ANKENY FIRE STATION   Ankeny, Iowa An FEH Design Charrette incorporated firefighters input into the design of this new 14,347 square foot facility. The six-bay masonry facility houses 12 fire apparatus vehicles with three drive-through bays. Other features include a second floor mezzanine and a multiuse administration area that can be divided for training use, crew ready rooms, and a decontamination room. To accommodate full-time staff, the fire station provides lockers, showers and kitchen facilities. The building is designed to allow for future expansion of a full-time firefighter dormitory.
