FEH Associates designed an addition/renovation to the district’s existing middle school to create a K-12 complex. Extensive skylighting provides ample day lighting in the main corridors of the 70,000 square foot high school addition and the 30,000 square foot elementary wing. Along with modern classrooms, the project created a new 1,100-seat gymnasium and added new stage space. Through a cooperative effort between the school district and the city, the library was designed to serve as the Elk Point Public Library shared by students and the general Elk Point community. Heating and cooling for the new complex uses a 288-well geothermal heat pump system.
