GRINNELL PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING

FEH is currently in the Schematic Design phase for the new Grinnell Public Safety Building. This facility will house the City of Grinnell Police and Fire Departments as well as EMS Services. FEH has promoted sustainable design practices for this project including the reuse of an existing grocery store the City has anticipated razing to clear the way for a new facility. FEH’s ability to work within the structural framework of the existing building shell has resulted in a project with more square footage at less cost than a completely new facility. The project involves renovation of the 18,000-square-foot grocery store with an addition of approximately 12,500-square-foot. The project has been LEED Registered and is pursuing LEED Certification.
