FEH Associates hired for improvements at Harlan school district

HARLAN – The architectural firm of FEH Associates Inc. has been hired by the Harlan Community School District for a proposed reconstruction/renovation project to buildings within the school district.
Initial focus will be a feasibility study with cost comparisons for renovating or replacing the district’s oldest school building, the New Park Elementary School. The study will address expanded classroom needs, improved energy efficiency, fire code updates and handicapped accessibility. Following the report, the district board of education will determine the best course of action with bidding for expected construction possible by late 2007. The study will also consider classroom additions at the district’s West Ridge Elementary Schools and updating of mechanical systems in all district owned buildings.
