FEH earns Masonry Award for Onawa Public Library

Weber Stone Company (www.weberstone.com) of Anamosa, Iowa, provided the gray Indiana limestone used throughout the building.
“The new building is not only aesthetically pleasing but historically correct,” said John Witt, author of The Carnegie Libraries of Iowa. “Both the interior and exterior reflected the style and design of the original composition. This is especially evident in the exterior use of stone, brick and tile and matching the original window design. It truly is a masterpiece in library renovation.”
The general contractor for the Onawa Public Library, Brown Construction Company (www.brownconstruction.net) of North Sioux City, S.D..
