SAYDEL HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM   Des Moines, Iowa FEH Associates designed an expansion to Saydel High School that created a 1700-seat gymnasium with a longer, 90-foot basketball court approved for conference level competition. Rubber tile laid in a weave pattern creates an indoor running track that circles the gym. Other new features include four new locker rooms, coaches’ offices and a training room. A new entrance includes bench seating in an attractive outdoor courtyard accented by a curved split-faced block wall. The project included cafeteria expansion and extensive kitchen remodeling, additional cafeteria seating space and an a la carte room for specialized lunch services.
