Sioux City, Iowa
FEH Associates teamed with Ellerbe Becket for this $53 million Vision Iowa project. This two-phased project started with the creation of the 220,000-square-foot Tyson Events Center featuring the 10,000 seat Gateway Arena. The new facility attaches to Sioux City’s historic 104,500 square foot municipal auditorium which, aided by federal tax credits for historic preservation, was converted into the Long Lines Family Rec Center. FEH was the lead architect responsible for local management of the entire project and renovation of the auditorium. Ellerbe Becket designed the arena space to accommodate sports and spectator events. The Gateway Arena is home to both the Musketeers hockey team and the Bandits arena football team. Facilities include 27 suites, press box, 32 points of sale for concessions, a 20 X 40 video display board, spacious box office, and five dressing rooms.
